26. Conclusion Second Paper

One might say that Wordsworth is a poet influenced by the Romantic period and this is true. All Wordsworth’s poems we have analysed deal with romantic topics and this is one of the reasons why Wordsworth is considered one of the beginneros of this new artistical period.

Generally, Wordsworth is considered a poet of nature but also he talks about humanism and the close relation between these both topics. This is one of his main concercs when talking about the nature and man’s feelings. A good example of this interest about man and nature is presents in ‘Tintern Abbey’ poem, as we have seen in its analysis.

Furthermore, we have seen how important is the relation between the childhood and nature in Wordsworth’s poems. For him this vinculation lasts forever and it is one of the most important aspects in our development as human people. Everything can be kept in the memory and it is going to play a big role when growing, that is the reason why  on of the  favourite topics of Wordsworth poems is to express the development of man’s mind.

Also, the sense of humanism is highlithed and vinculated to nature and childhood. Troughout the Paper we can see how all themes are related and they afect each other when talking about the development of man. Wordsworth thought, as a good Romantic poet, that men are born good. That means that we develop and grow by the world and society that envolve us. Childhood is the ‘real’ nature of man:

‘the child is the father of the man’ ( My Heart Leaps Up)

Children’s nature is more ‘original’ and closer to the nature of man than the adults’ nature (for children’ s nature has not spoiled yet.). For this reason, the fact that ‘Wordsworth cherished childhood’ means ‘he cherishes man’.

In conclusion, he cherishes the state of childhood, which is the state that exposes the original nature of man.
